1. History of Marvel Marvel was founded in the late 1930s by Martin Goodman. In 1939 Goodman invested in comics for the first time and had their first character “Sub-Mariner”. In addition to Sub-Mariner, Human Torch were Marvel comics characters in their First publish in October 1939, it was an instant success. After the success of his first issues Goodman formed a new company, TImely Publications. Nearing 1940 Goodmans concern about Hitler and Germany led Timely Publications to combat their characters against Nazis, even before America entered the war. In march of 1941 with their release of the new character Captain America fighting against Nazi Germany skyrocketd Timely Publications popularuity having their first issue hit nearly 1 million copies sold. After the success the company expanded from superheroes to humor, adding Comedy Comics, Joker Comics, adn Krazy Komics. In 1943 the company added Miss America, the first female issue that company published. After moving its office to the empire state building, the comic book market crashed and after years of legal disputes Marvel continued to produce titles Fantastic Four. In may 1963 Goodmans comic books started using Marvel “Comics Group ''. Around 1977 Marvel had its first television show after the comic book market shrunk to an all time low. After Marvel was sold back and forth between companies they eventually were bought by the Andrews Group Company. This led to the investment into a toy company. Which ultimately put marvel products and characters into drug stores around America and across the world. She is the female equivalent of Captain America. Hulk general tagert aims for young and mature audiences. Spidermans target market is different based on the movie, the majority of spiderman movies and comics is targeted towards young children while spiderman into the spider verse is tagged to a more specific African American young person.
