Listening to patients, informing, communicating, and educating patients and their family members in plain language they understand. To participate in decision making and managing their care, and continually promote disease prevention and healthy lifestyles for the patients. A nurse should continuously allow time to learn about each patient and their personal needs, whether it be something specific or straightforward. If a nurse takes time to learn about each patient and develop a connection with them, they are likely to build a trusting relationship and participate in their care. Second, serving in multidisciplinary care teams to connect and organize patient care.
