Kevin Pintauro PHL 250 Dr. Kiefer 5A 2 “Even the bravest of us rarely have the bravery for what we actually know…” I like this quote because it seems very surreal to me and how I perceive human nature; which is that people often attempt to disguise or forget certain “bad” things about or within themselves by being “brave” or (over) compensating in something else. The person receives attention in something that (is made to) stand out amongst the rest of their seemingly “normal” self. Revealing secrets can sometimes be the bravest thing. 5 “Once and for all, there’s a lot that I don’t want to know.—Wisdom sets limits even to knowledge.” I really like this quote. It’s kind of like the saying, “Ignorance is bliss”. Sometimes the less one knows, the better they are. It also reminds me of the movie Shallow Hal with Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow. Hal gets hypnotized in to thinking that every girls inner beauty he sees is actually what they look like. The girl is in fact

If I thought a girl looked like Gwyneth Paltrow, even though didn’t, by ALL means set my knowledge limit before that point and never tell me. 7 “What? Is Humanity just God’s mistake? Or God a mistake of humanity?— ” I only like this quote because of the paradoxical question it asks, but other than I find it very cynical and disagree with it. The question asks are we a product of God or is God a product of us. I don’t find it cynical that he is perhaps saying that he does not believe in God, but rather that he finds humanity is a mistake by itself. And, if people did create “god”, then I still don’t see that as a bad thing in the same way as the last entry. I would rather live a life selected limited knowledge than be burdened with harsh truths that make living difficult....
