Kevin Pintauro PHL 250 Dr. Kiefer 6B 1. The difference between the “mythic reality” and “sensory reality” is like the difference between The Iliad and The Odyssey. The Iliad is a mythic reality that never stops focusing on the glory of war even in death of its heroes. Its sequel, The Odyssey is a sensory reality where its hero is depressed and lonely because he is away from and tired of fighting wars. He even encounters a fallen comrade, Achilles, in his journey away from war and this passed soldier too now agrees with Odysseus that he wishes he could be alive to live rather than have died in war. The mythic reality is the fog of war that keeps one from seeing all that which is included always included in war, but without the fog, any one can see what it really is. 2.
