Home builders nationwide are slightly less pessimistic according to the latest National Association
of Home Builders Sentiment Index. The index rose
from 14 in September 2011 to 18 in October after
66 six-consecutive months of lackluster and low index
values. Builders continue to compete with foreclosures and rentals, and are further hampered by
the job losses, lower than expected appraisals, and
