This includes highways and bridges, water supply and distribution systems, waste treatment plants, aviation systems, communication facilities, and buildings. Instead of the normal six-year term for the bill, a two-year term is more likely. The projects funded will be short term in nature as they have been since 2009 when the Transportation Equity Act expired. This bill, as with all of the appropriations bills, is under intense budgetary pressure.
