In her blog post on Social Media Explorer, she points out there is a need for people with great editorial skills; who can write blogs, white papers and slide presentations; and who can conceptualize and perhaps even edit video. If the marketing or media staff has those capabilities, she points out, the costs for content marketing gets absorbed into the department. She also predicts there will be new positions like “marketing technologist” and “marketing scientist” who understand online technologies and can assist with implementation without waiting for the IT department.
