Serving LGBTQ Students Assignment Texas is an ultra-conservative state that do not strive to defend the LGBTQ students in the school districts. There is no law in Texas that forbids the discrimination of a student’s sexual orientation or gender. However, the Texas government has not yet made a law defending these students, larger school districts in Texas have formed their own shielding guidelines to offer these scholars a good opportunity for achievement in their schools. The Texas Observer commented that “In 2010, TEA added sexual orientation to its Code of Ethics, which now prohibits certified educators in the state from discriminating against gay, lesbian and bisexual students and colleagues. And since 2012, more than 900 Texas school districts have quietly — and in some cases perhaps unknowingly — added references to sexual orientation and gender identity in their anti-harassment policies.” Nevertheless, there is not any law in Texas that shields
