You go out to dinner with some of your friends, or worse a date you are trying to impress, and the bill comes. Tip? What’s that? How do you figure that out? Or for the ladies, you get your hair done, a cut and color, and you go to pay the bill, and the receptionist asks, “Would you like to add a tip?” The new world we have just entered is scary and demanding, but there are a few rules to follow to keep the service happy. An appropriate tip depends on the occasion, level of service, and season. Body: I. What occasion warrants a tip? A. Most common services that warrant a tip with every trip: 1. Valet: $1 to $2, depending on time of night, and how busy the service is. 2. Hairdresser: 20% of the total cost is appropriate. 3.
