DELOS SANTOSI.COURSE DESCRIPTION:This course reintroduces the fundamental movement patterns that consist of non-locomotor and locomotor skills, which are integrated with core training to meet thedemands of functional fitness and physical activity performance. Emphasis will be onexercise regression and progression for the enhancement of fitness and the adaptationof movement competencies to independent physical activity pursuits. In conjunctionwith fitness and wellness concepts, exercise and healthy eating principles, periodicevaluation will be conducted of one’s level of fitness and physical activity, as well aseating patterns to monitor one’s progress and achievement of personal fitness anddietary goals.II.LEARNING OUTCOME:At the end of the term, the students should be able to:KNOWLEDGE1.Discuss concept of the fundamental body movement, exercise, and nutrition.2.Analyze physiological indicators such as heart rate, rate of perceivedexertion and pacing associated with MVPA’s to monitor and/ or adjustparticipation or effort.3.Evaluate a personal food log based on dietary recommendations.AFFECT AND ATTITUDES4.Lead fitness events with proficiency and confidence resulting inindependent pursuit and influencing others positively.5.Display movement competence and confidence.6.Establish fitness and wellness goals.SKILLS7.Perform wellness activities with the knowledge and skills in improvingtheir lifestyle with the right choice in selecting their prepared type ofnutrition and exercise.8.Adapt fundamental movement competencies in an exercise program9.Design an individualized exercise program and train at a level to match one’sneeds and abilities.
