New Practice ApproachesMy placement process involved working under close supervision of my mentor. Inother words, I discerned that one requires to understand the practical procedures, which areessential in managing pain particularly in convalescents and the measures that are critical inimproving normal functioning of body, nutritional intake, and mobility.Through the practicum, I perceived that one should have skills in helping the invalidswithin the clinic in various aspects such as emotional, spiritual, and psychological dimensionsof dying. Besides, I learnt my obligations as a nurse that I am responsible in making dailyassessment with respect to the capabilities of a patient. In addition, I learnt to plan andanticipate for upcoming developments through employing my technical knowledge as well asexperience.Intraprofessional CollaborationDuring the practicum, I gained an understanding of the importance ofintraprofessional collaboration especially in the healthcare sector. Intraprofessionalcollaboration helped the disciplinary team that included pharmacists, nurses, bereavementcounsellors, physicians, dieticians, chaplains, and other social workers to establish goodpersonal relationships at work as they shared critical plans regarding therapies ofconvalescents as well as procedures of increasing patient’s comfort care in the clinic.
