I can identify and produce rhyming words from a given text. Curricular Focus, Theme, or Subject Area: The subject area is Reading. The reading foundation is phonological awareness. The student is developing her reading skills by understanding the process of spoken words, syllables and rhyming words. Common Core State Standards or other State/District Standards: ELAGSEKRF2: Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). a. Recognize and produce rhyming words. b. Count, pronounce, blend, and segment syllables in spoken words.
