Kelly N. Torres INST150 Professor Irving 18 September 2007 Journal Entry A. What specific ideas stood out to me in the chapters I read? Why? Most Christians have enormous respect for the space and freedom of others; it is only that they have found a joy in Jesus they want to share. (114) This stood out because as Christians we should share the gospel, but in a way where we aren’t bothering or annoying the unsaved. For me, the beginning of sharing my faith with people began by throwing out Christianity and embracing Christian spirituality, a nonpolitical mysterious system that can be experienced but not explained. Christianity, unlike Christian spirituality, was not a term that excited me. And I could not in good conscious tell a friend about faith that didn’t excite me. I couldn’t have something I wasn’t experiencing. And I wasn’t experiencing Christianity. (115) He really explains his point on how he wasn’t going to share his faith when he didn’t even know what he really believes in.
