Task 1: Tiered Instruction GroupingLanguage Arts Instruction and InterventionDiedra ZinningerPart A:Group 1: Group 1 includes 3 students who write well above grade level and 2 gifted students who write extremely well. Group 2:Group 2 includes 5 students who write at grade level.Group 3:Group 3 includes 4 learning support students who write below grade level and 3 students who write below grade level.Group 4:Group 4 includes 3 English language learners.I have chosen to group these students in temporary skill groups for the purpose of these mini lessons. I feel that by grouping these students in homogeneous groups such as these, the students will be better served with the differentiated focus of their specific group.Part B:Group 1 – Above Grade Level StudentsThe focus of the mini lesson for this group of students will be dialogue. I will begin the mini lesson by telling the students that we will be discussing the use of dialogue in narrative writing. I will then tell the students that dialogue is what it is called when people talk to each other and we write that conversation down.
