Orange Coast College Physics 185 Dr. Arnold Guerra III Introduction to PhysLets I. Introduction A physlet is a Physics (Java) Applet. We use “physlets” to animate physical phenomena. Specifically we want to collect data from the physlet animation and perform calculations to answer questions. There are hyperlinks (buttons) on the page that are used to control the animations. Use a caliper to measure various objects A vernier caliperis a device used to facilitate the reading to a fractional part of thesmallest division on a scale. It consists of a small auxiliary scalecalled a vernier onthe movable arm, which slides along the edge of the main scale. You read the caliperby placing an object in the caliper, and reading off of the vernier. The 0 line on the movable arm tells you centimeters and tenths of centimeters. To
