Cassie Morgan College Writing: LIT-100-047 Professor Warfield 29 October 2007 Short Response to Where Have All the Criminals Gone? Levitt and Dubner are very careful about the views that their audience may have towards abortion. No one has the same opinion about any single topic. They are even courteous enough to put a little disclaimer in the third to last paragraph warning their readers to skip ahead if they feel strongly about the topic of abortion. “If you identify with either person number one or person number two, the following exercise might strike you as offensive, and you may want to skip this paragraph and the next.” - Levitt and Dubner pg. 144 When analyzing the piece by Levitt and Dubner, I could not find one single defining theory as to why the crime rate dropped. Rather, it seemed to be combination of several theories to explain why the crime rate dropped. They agree with many of the theories, but they point out the flaws in each theory to argue that no one theory can
