INTRODUCTION A two-port network is an electrical network with two separate ports for input and output (Refer Figure 1) A port is an access to the network and consist of a pair of terminals; the current entering one terminal leaves through the other terminal so that the net current entering the port equals zero. [ CITATION Ale172 \l 18441 ] This model is commonly used to determine the characteristics of current and voltage in a complex circuit. There are two important parameters when dealing with two-port networks which are z-parameters and y-parameters. Z-parameters is known as the impedance parameters and y-parameters is known as the admittance parameters. Impedance is basically the resistance and reactance of the circuit while admittance is the conductance of the circuit which is also the inverse of impedance. To find z-parameters of one port, a voltage supply is connected on that port and the other port must be in open circuit condition so that current, I = 0A. Z-parameters are split into 4 types which are z 11 , z 21 , z 12 and z 22 where the subscripts of these parameters represent voltage and current. Z-parameters are calculated using V I where the voltage, V and current, I depends on which type of z- parameters is being measured. For instance, to calculate z 12 , the formula V 1 I 2 is used. When finding y-parameters of one port, the voltage supply must be connected on that port and the other port must be in short circuit condition such that V = 0V. There are also 4 types of y-parameters which are y 11 , y 21 , y 12 and y 22 . The formula to calculate the y-parameters are inverse of z- parameters which is I V . For example, to find the value of y 21 , the formula I 2 V 1 is used.
