Cassie Morgan SIS-105-015 Professor Chong 2 November 2007 Extra Credit: Dalai Lama I really enjoyed going to see the Dalai Lama when he spoke at the Capitol. Participating in this event is just one of the great experiences of being a student in Washington, DC. Although I did enjoy hearing the Dalai Lama speak, I was slightly disappointed at the same time. The part of the afternoon that I was a bit disappointed on was the speeches given by the Dalai Lama. I was at the lawn early enough to see His Holiness speak inside of the rotunda while receiving his reward, but I was led to believe that he would be making his speech outside where the public would be able to see him clearly. Thankfully, there was a large screen to the left of the outdoor stage that allowed all guests to watch the speeches being made. Although I was disappointed with the speeches, I really enjoyed the cultural aspect that was brought into the event. I don’t know much about Tibetan culture, so being able to watch performances by
