METHODOLOGY This chapter discusses the “how” and “why” of the research study. It presents in detail what scheme is going to be used (research design), how the samples will be selected (sampling methods), how the scores will be obtained (research instruments), how the raw data will be treated to be transformed into meaningful information (research statistics), how data will be collected (data gathering procedures), and how the study will be designed so as to ensure that the results are accurate and precise (control of threats to validity). Research Design This study employs quantitative non-experimental descriptive research design wherein the researchers will conduct a survey to the selected respondents to further understand the present phenomenon. This research design is intended to describe the present condition of a variable of phenomenon (Edmond & Kennedy, 2013). The study aims to determine the advantages of subway tunnels as a solution on traffic congestion in Manila among the commuters travelling in Metro Manila.
