However, society life today has been threatened by many crimes. One type of crimes is violent crimes. Houston is one of the cities that has a high crime rate in the United States. The residents in Houston have suffered much from this crime. There are several troubling effects of violent crimes committed in Houston on the city and its residents. And they are: damage to people and property, loss of a feeling of security, and giving of bad examples in social life. The first effect of violent crime on Houston’s life is damage to people and property. According to the statistics of a security agency, in 2018, Houston had 276 murders and 8761 robberies. Obviously, violent crime took the lives of many people. Of those victims, there were young people who were the main laborers of their families.
