Capitalism soon took this over as a means to get cheaper labor. In cases like engineering jobs, where American schools produced 35,000, India produced 520,000 IT’s with pretty much the same qualifications. Before globalization practices became more common, engineering jobs paid more because of the lack of supply and greater demand. Now with an increase in supply from other countries the demand is decreasing and high-paying engineering jobs are lessoning in availability as an example. Offshore Labor Markets Impact IT Outsourcing Demand for IT engineers from Southeast Asian countries such as India and Sri Lanka is having previously unforeseen consequences on the economy.
