Literature ReviewLiterature ReviewCatheter-associated urinary tract infection is one of many hospital-acquired infectionswhen not cared for and possibly neglected. This paper will compare different articles that werechosen to support my change project proposal. My research question for this project is aimedtoward patients who are at risk for catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) within anacute care setting, will implementing a nurse-driven protocol help decrease the incidence ofcatheter-associated urinary tract infection compared to patients who have not had nurse-drivenprotocols used in their course of care in the progress of five months? This nurse-driven protocolwill be proposed of assessment tools and nursing interventions. First, a proper and in detail Foleycatheter needs assessment for the patient. Second adequate Foley catheter care using CHG wipesthat are accepted by the organization, Third timely removal of Foley catheter when it is no longerindicated. This means removing the catheter as soon as possible without a physician’s order, andlastly proper Foley maintenance including no dependent loops, stat lock in place, and bag belowbed level. Each article is different and covers each intervention for the use of the project beingpresented.Comparison of Research QuestionsWith research articles, different aspects can be taken away from them. In each article is aresearch question or hypothesis this is used to identify the purpose of the article. A researchquestion or PICOT questions helps establish a set goal within the article and what achievementsare going to be accomplished. When preparing my change project PICOT and coming up witharticles to support it, it was very difficult. Only three out of the eight articles I have chosen had
