As a way of protecting and promoting the rights of all citizens to quality education, the
Department of Education have been implementing different programs and services.
Identify and give a brief description of three DepEd programs and services which are
deemed appropriate for the holistic development of the learners.
1. Textbooks and Other Instructional Materials
2. Basic Education Facilities (BEF)
The Basic Education Facilities (BEF) is an annual budget of the Department for its School
Building Program, which covers the improvement and maintenance of school facilities. It shall
be utilized for the provision of classroom, workshop buildings, replacement of old dilapidated
buildings, provision of furniture, repair and rehabilitation of classrooms, including water and
sanitation facilities and electrification.
The following are the components of the Basic Education Facilities (BEF)
a. Construction of School Buildings
b. Provision of School Furniture
c. Classroom Repair and Rehabilitation
d. Upgrading of School Electrical Connections
