The video “Email in the workplace” discusses how employers are monitoring their employer’s emails and browsing. The employee in the video was fired for using company computers of private use. Companies are allowed to use email tracking software’s to monitor employee activity. Employees are aware that the company may be monitoring their computer and that they should only send emails that are work related. There is usually an agreement during employment that says that employers are allowed to monitor employee email for any possible “threats” to the company. Its most cases employees would be wasting time and company resources if they are using company email for personal use. I think it is important for companies to be able to monitor employee emails as long as it is on company devices.
