The summary of the key points of the article is as below:In the past two decades, the United States has made tireless efforts to provide equitable health care, but there has been very little progress.The author articulates the potential promises, pitfalls, and prescriptions (steps) that are needed to make this progress noticeable. Health care reform (ACA) in 2010’s sole focus was expanding health care coverage which included expanding health insurance coverage, access to primary care, payment reform, health information technology, a national health care quality strategy, and disparity monitor. Health care reform comes with numerous disparities, some of which are addressed in ACA, but we have a long way to go to address all of them.Kevin (2011) states health care reform that includes elements from six health care domains: access, primary care support, enhanced health information technology, new payment models, a national quality strategy informed by research, and federal requirements for health caredisparity monitoring are the keys to increased health care equity.
