Why is the term “Western Civilization” problematic? Your answer should be at least one paragraph long. The reason the term "Western Civilization" is problematic is because a lot of intellectuals claim that there is no such thing as civilization in the west. According to David Graeber, who is a renowned anthropologist, "There was never a West". This kind of analysis might be because the West has no clear boundaries. Another issue would be, whenever we draw a boundary around thewest, it always turns out to be confusing and not safe. This is because it was not cut out from the outside world completely economically and culturally. The most important issue which affects the idea of Western Civilization is that it is very diverse, complicated and varies a lot. Yet it tries to put a label on itself.2. List the things the Mesopotamians invented and provide at least one example of each you see around you today. For each example be sure to state why it’s important, and don’t forget to include the ones the author did not bullet-point.
