PSYCHOLOGY 400: STUDY GUIDE FOR QUIZ 1 AND TEST 1 For Quiz 1 (January 31 st ): The pages specified below from 1 FULL RECORD and 5 FULL RECORD . In addition you will have to know the lecture notes of the two classes class periods before the 31 st . For Test 1 (February 7 th ): The pages specified below from 1 FULL RECORD, 2 FULL RECORD FOUR FULL RECORD and FIVE FULL RECORD . In addition you will have to know all the lectures notes from all the class periods until the last class meeting before the Test. This document contains six pages. GENERAL GUIDELINES 1. Try grasping the concepts rather than memorizing definitions. 2. You do NOT have to memorize the names of researchers and the dates associated with them (e.g., Lachman et. al., 1979) – but you MUST read and understand the work they did. A question on the quiz or test about some researcher’s work (say, Lachman et. al., 1979) will contain enough information contained in the question for you to know what I am talking about – that is, if you have read the stuff closely. 3. Do NOT wait until the night before the quiz or test to read this stuff. It is a bit challenging and you have to read and reflect on this stuff. Obviously you are the best judge of what works best for you . Nevertheless, I strongly recommend you start reading this material as soon as possible. Read say, 2 or 3 pages a day – think about it, and then proceed to the next few pages. 4. If you have any questions please email me or come see me during office hours or by appointment. I do not normally respond to student-emails on the night before a quiz or a test. What’s an emergency for you need not necessarily be one for me…The earlier you start reading and asking me questions, the better I can answer them, and the more time you will have before the quiz or test to reflect on our conversation.
