Brittany Rae Salopek 12-06-06 Do it Yourself Do it yourself or die: a common belief that is strongly encouraged in the artistic world and embedded into the intricate minds of artists from different forms of skill (Dean: 2002). This rather forward theory was continuously emphasized throughout Michael W. Dean’s D.I.Y. or DIE film released in 2002 by various artists that shared this widespread belief and utilized it to perform artistic scenes and develop ravishing art designs (Dean: 2002). These people accumulate a sub-culture of creation, expression, and a form of living that has been come to know as the art culture (Dean: 2002). From the viewed scenes it is apparent that many non-artistic people may be lacking a clear understanding of the purpose of fine art (Dean: 2002). Repeatedly these interviewees described art as a freedom that allowed them to express themselves in an alternative manner as opposed to the dull aspects of life offered in a boring office cubicle (Dean: 2002). Making art is a way of staying busy, providing for their families, articulating their thoughts, and even getting away from depressing everyday life problems (Dean: 2002).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
