In the photograph “Sunset at Yosemite” there is color that pulls the picture together. It is the shades of pink and purple that really draws your eye to the picture. The colors unite the picture together and it gives the sense of unity. The visual element that provides a sense of variety is mass. The mountain is so huge and massive that you immediately look at it. It is such a big part of the picture since is seems to take up so much space. The picture isn’t very symmetrical. In nature you can’t have symmetry because everything is made and it isn’t perfect. So the picture is asymmetrical. The mass of the mountain is asymmetrical because one sides goes up while the other down. Also there are trees on the left but not on the right. The colors also are not very symmetrical because on the left there is pink but on the right blue and in the middle purple. When you first look at the picture you see lots of color then darkness. The first thing that catches your eye is the bright colors and you immediately look at it. Then after
