Giovanni Ravalli SSC 103 (Small Group Essay) Reversing the “Gender Gap” The article that we read titled Reversing the “Gender Gap” is mainly about the inequality between genders. It seems that teachers in public schools have been paying more attention to girls and punishing boys for their “boyish” behaviors. The article also states that boys are being put into special education programs which leaves them with poor education overall. The end result of this is that boys end up performing under their potential in high school and even college. As for college, the statistics offered in this article show that currently more women were awarded more bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees than men. This, according to the source listed in the article, is the source of the “new gender gap.” Many religious and male supremacists don’t think that this is a good event. In fact, some even go as far to say that the struggle for equality between genders has gone too far in favor of women. They blame most of the social conflicts of today on this “new gender gap.”

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
