The time I spent volunteering at AMICO Senior Center was the best time ever. I volunteered there during my entire spring break. I did the 10 hours required and still kept going. I shadowed Lina Frangella, the group worker of the center. She planned all the activities and kept records of them. While doing this I spoke to many members, 2 of which are talked about (names changed obviously). Their stories are remarkable as well as their activity levels. Madeline D is a 68 year old woman who enjoys life and wouldn’t change any of it. Josephine is a 92 year old widow who plays tennis, dances, and paints. She also loves her life and wouldn’t change any aspect of it. 2

For many senior citizens, life is difficult. This is especially true for the senior citizens who attend AMICO Senior Center in Brooklyn, NY. AMICO Senior Center is there to make life as easy as possible for their members.
