I had a very poor sleeping schedule as far back as middle school, with going to sleep very late mostnights and as a result, getting very little sleep. My current sleeping schedule is still very poor because it consist of going to sleep very late during the weekaround 3 to 4am, and as late as 5am on the weekends due to working late. This is especially a problem since I have to always be upby 8am to get ready forclass. Then to make up with the late nights I would end up falling asleep in class or take long naps after class. This terrible cycle has been a consistent part ofmy life for so long and has taken a huge toll on my body such as having very low energy, being very easily stressed/irritable, as well as impending on theimportsnt processes the body and brain undergoes during sleep such as processing information, growth and repair.My Goal: should be Specific, Measurable, Acheivable, Realsitic and Time specific. i.e. a detailed goalMy main goal is to increase the amount of sleep I get, to sleep earlier and to be consistent with times I go to sleep. I also would try to stop taking long naps atschool/after school so I’m not awake later throughout the night. I’m going to increase the amount of sleep from my current 3-4 hours to hopefully a solid 7-9houra a night. I will be in bed around 10pm-12am to be able to achieve this goal. I will also have to work on finishing my school work earlier in the day andbeing off my phone late at night.

This is a result of factors such as having positive role models that influence you into making healthierchoices, having support for your mental health by having people to talk to and having people in your life that is always checking on your overall wellbeing andas a result help you with achieving your goals. For example, someone lacks as a social support network such as not having a supportive family or friends canfeel alone which would negatively affect their mental health and may not have the proper influence to make healthy choices and would therefore be morelikely to be less healthy.
