Wessing 1 Alex Wessing Profesor Vandehey MMW1 15 October 2007 On Friday, October 12 in the year 2007 I witnessed a fine presentation of musical talent and ingenuity. I saw the Hugo Wolf quartette that is based in Vienna, Austria. It was an excellent musical experience with many different styles and feels to the various pieces that they performed. Between both an informational question-answer session and the performance itself, I feel as if I now have a deeper understanding of both classical Vienna-based music and current Austrian composition. The informational session before the performance was fairly interesting in itself, but only became lively with the animated interjections of the First violinist of the group and the audience participation. The group divulged to the audience many facts about their origins and types of music that they prefer. The first violinist comically stated that he hated music so as to ease the tension between the group and their conventional interviewer. It seemed to be a unanimous
