(4 points) Your close friend, Bobby Bigbones, has decided to go on the Atkin’s diet. To make sure he doesn’t eat any complex starches, he has asked you to design a simple procedure to allow him to detect complex starches in his food. Come up with a hypothesis , design an experiment / test for Bobby, include two controls - one positive AND one negative , and then describe what you would see of the result in the positive control tube. (1pt) Hypothesis: the high starch food should show color change to black (1pt) Test+ result: Iodine test Æ bluish black. (1pt) Positive control should be anything with complex starch (potatoes, processed bread, etc).
