As we discussed in class, none of these theories is completely true and a mixture of all of them must be used to explain the real events of life. I agree with Stoessinger’s individualized view when discussing the Invasion of Iraq. If Al Gore were president, he probably would not have invaded Iraq, validating the claims made in this book. However, the institutional need for oil by the U.S. as an international entity provides the backdrop for all previous conflict in the Middle East, going back to the first instances of American involvement. Overall, the book provides a new and interesting take on war not seen or mentioned in the other books....
