2 BENCHMARK ELA UNIT PLAN Part 1: Lesson Preparation Teacher Candidate Name:Jessica L. Clasen Grade Level:7th Unit/Subject: English Language Arts Title of Unit and Brief Summary:The summary of the next 5 lessons in this lesson preparation are going to concentrate on using guided comprehensions with Bio-cubes. This method will assist students on summarizing with Bio-cubes. The strategy being used will be allow students to construct their own biographies. By writing the biographies, they will be able to connect to the learning material in a meaningful way. Classroom and Student Factors/Grouping:Some students that have health impairments are Denise, Bertie and Victoria. The groups will be based upon each students academic levels and some will be paired with higher cognitive students to help them keep up with the class. These students are going to to be in the self-contained classroom with many different skills and levels. Some of the health impairments include ADHD, task-completing skills, and test-taking.
