APPARATUS: air track rail • blower pressure tube • gliders • flag • photogates • masses mass hanger • string • pulley photogate hanger and slotted mass glider and flag air blower schematic diagram of the accelerating system
PROCEDURES: 1. The linear air track air set was assembled as shown 2. switch on the pump and let the air blow through the track for several minutes. The track have been balanced by adjusting the screws on the legs of the track, so that the glider stays stationary and does not glide to either end when let go 1. insert one hook at one end and a flag on top of the glider 2. the mass of the hanger and the lenght of the flag was recorded 3. one end of the string was attached to the hanger and the other end to the glider.
