The chemistry and biology that defines everything around us and everything we’re made of are the kind of things I’ll draw my attention to in a book because it seems most important to me. I am a science geek who truly appreciates people like Margaret Sanger, William H. Masters, and Virginia E. Johnsonwho have made such amazing advances and discoveries in human biology. It wasn’t easy for scientists in the early 1900’s to freely “show and tell their work”. Most of that was due to the gender roles of the 1900’s. In the early 1900’s sex wasn’t even mentioned. Girls were supposed to cover up completely, be proper, stay pure, and behave. Boys didn’t have as much pressure on them to sexually behave like women. Ida Craddock was a gifted writer of her time. She published books like The Wedding Night, and Right Marital Living. These books were considered far too “erotic and evil”.
