Zach Garcia Honors 111 A Presocratic Reader A Presocratic Reader A Presocratics Reader has been one of the most interesting books that we as a class have read all year. I think that one of the more interesting people the book talks about is Heraclitus. His views on the world were very controversial and radical changes from the mainstream thought at that time. His views on being and Beings were a shift form the accepted views at the time. Some of his most fascinating thoughts involved those about logos, human perception, and his view on the presocratics that came before him. Heraclitus said that the universe was ruled by logos. The word logos is interesting because it can be translated into many different words But what Heraclitus was trying to teach to others was that logos controls all but that when humans try to first understand it they can not. He does not say that a heavenly body or God controls the universe but he says that humans became into being and that was the end. They would then die and that was it. His view on the universe and its relation to humans
