World Religions Essay
Max Miller stated, “To know just one religion is to know none”. In my opinion, I
agree with his statement because due to the various religions each one is unique, from their
traditions to their beliefs strengthening them as a spiritual individual. Religions such as
Buddhism, Hinduism, and Catholicism, etc. are important to understand and learn from because
we can know that we don’t only have one. We have many, which helps us discover more and
more about how we live our religion in our daily lives. Religion is when people from certain
parts of the world choose to believe in one God or many gods. Moreover, they practice their
religions in various ways such as meditation, rituals, prayers, etc. Being able to understand the
outside world, gives us an insight that other spiritual people practice their religion differently
than ours. Understanding is just a useless word until you compare it with something else. Not
being able to understand means that you do not know what religion is.
My faith(Catholic) consists of practicing certain sacraments like attending mass, going to
confession, believing in Jesus' resurrection, and praying to saints and Mary, etc. Going to
confession has influenced me in my daily life because it has strengthened my relationship with
God and knowing that God has forgiven my sins gives me the sense to do good deeds to people
and for myself. As well as going to mass helps me learn more about the Bible and the
stories/miracles that have happened in the past and helps me grow more to God. Furthermore,
going to mass and in celebration of sacrifice, I receive the Eucharist the body of Christ. Which

Catholics believe that taking the Eucharist is a form of a real presence of the Body and blood of
Christ through transubstantiation. This information is based on my faith and the way I act in my
daily life is by spreading the word and being an example of a true Catholic. For example, the
way I show I am a true Catholic is by sharing my experiences with people of the
hardships(depression) I’ve experienced and it took patience and prayer; God was there every step
of the way. One other religion that fits into my category of practicing their religion is Buddhism.
Buddhism focuses on practicing the awakening and the end of suffering for anyone who attains
it. In this case, the end of suffering can be compared to how Catholics go to confession and
