I. Feminist Approaches – What is Missing? a. Feminist theorists from different schools of thought have different paradigms by which to view sexual inequality. b. Liberal feminists seek to work within the capitalist system to ameliorate discriminatory practices against women, which is counterrevolutionary in nature since the “system” is what subordinates women. b.i. The difference between liberal and radical feminists is that the latter form women-only groups. c. Socialist feminists attack the real problem, economics. c.i. They target the cause of sexism as the division of labor that makes women inferior. c.ii. However, socialists don’t provide a viable alternative to capitalism. d. Post-modernist feminists question the existence of an objective reality, doing little to address the concrete structural problems inherent in racist/sexist dynamics relevant to the lives of African women. e. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
