Saidur Rahman 02/01/2021 Synthesis Essay The philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein once said “[t]he limits of my language mean the limits of my world.” Language is a human creation used to express one’s ideas and philosophies about oneself and the world around them to others. Without language, human development would have been a myth still. One of the salient features of language is how it can be shaped to communicate beauty and other profound feelings. Poets often use this to their advantage to communicate these intricate feelings or ideas. They use what we call “descriptive language” to describes images, often of nature, that readers can relate to in order to make the ideas understandable. In the poems Big Wind , Afterglow and Loss , the poets use descriptive language to help reader visualize the words, manage their mood, and emphasize on the meaning of abstract ideas. Descriptive languages are often used to put the readers in the scene of the action. For example, in Big Wind
