In 1930, the United States changed the race of Mexicans from white to nonwhite. How was it possible to change the race of an entire group of people? (15 points) They determined race on how others perceived them in their community. By 1930, why did some Americans want Mexicans to no longer be "white"? (15 points) White people didnt want to be classifed as the same as mexicans back then. Not being white meant that one had fewer political rights in the United States than people who were regarded as white.
