Guided Reading Questions for Chapter 3 1. The two primary tools of the playwright are dialogue and physical action 2. Non-linear play structure is when there are breaks in the chronology of the play with flash forwards or flash backs, or could be a change in style like Shakespeare’s work. Continuous linearity structure is when the play follows a strict time flow and chorological events. 3. Credibility is an audience given quality about the play. It is how the audience can feel that the characters are acting of there own self will and not doing a set of instructions. They need to act fluidily throughout the play as if they are fulfilling their human need. Intrigue is the quality of the play that draws the audience in and makes them wonder what is coming next.
