Jones Have you ever thought about when black people couldn’t even sit or stand anywhere they wanted? Where there were two sections for everything the two sections were one that read white and the other that read colored. This is what is called segregation. Segregation is to separate or set apart from others or from the main body or group (Webster pocket dictionary 325). The reason people were segregated was because of the color of their skin. This was a bad time in America which many people have thought we overcame, but we haven’t in America we are still dealing with the facts of racism and segregation.53% of black people think that we have improved over the past few years (Racial and Ethnic Diversity 916), the fact is that if things like this still exist we haven’t progressed a bit. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.21% of the population (wikepedia.com).
