Deals with simple behavioral responses and complex ones 2. Able to change in polarity 3. Able to change in the permeability 4. There are 50 different neurotransmitters in the brain ii. Neurotransmitters and their functions 1. Serotonin (5-HT) a. Can influence how the smart part of the brain makes decisions b. A hormone
