Name Cordero Mobley Date November 29, 2005 Younghans - COM 110, Sec. # 75 NBA Age Policy General Purpose: To persuade Specific Purpose: To persuade that the NBA should not adopt a policy on age limit Type of Persuasive Speech (i.e. Fact, Value, or Policy): Policy Organizational Pattern: Comparative Advantages I. INTRODUCTION A. Attention Getter: With Christmas right around the corner, everybody is busy preparing their Christmas list. Of course everyone wants something different, and I’m sure if we could get a look at the Christmas list of David Stern, the commissioner of the NBA, at the top of his wish list would be: no more teenagers in the NBA. B. Relevance to Audience: As America’s second most popular sport, such a rule would drastically change the game that we all love to watch. C. Credibility Statement: Weeks of research have only help to strengthen my opposition to a new NBA age policy. D. Thesis: I agree with many NBA players and feel that the NBA should not instate a new age policy. E. Preview Statement: Requiring NBA players to be 20 years old is un- American, racist, and will cause the NBA to lose money TRANSITION: Given that the NBA exists in America, it doesn’t make sense to institute a rule that is un-American.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
