It provides information on gun related murder rates in different states. This source enables me to understand about who can own guns and also provides information on gun laws. The article also points out how the national government can react to the most recent controversy about gun laws. This source is an important guide in my article because it allows me to understand the benefits and disadvantages of gun laws. Therefore, I can understand the consequences of the gun laws that get passed, this helps me to be unbiased yet convincing while doing my research. The information in this article is credible but it only has data prior to 2010. By using this source, I was able to understand the dangers associated with the purchase of military style firearms in the legal market. The article features an interview with Tom Diaz who is a policy analyst for the Violence Policy Center. The analyst sets it clear that military grade weapons are not to be used in public and even gives an example on how the weapon used in the Newtown massacre was intended for military use only.
