Would you say Lockheed Martin has a low- or high-performance culture? Support your answer with evidence from the case. A high performance team is one in which all members of the team work towards shared targets and have a sense of shared responsibility for the results the team achieves. As the team performance improves over time, the better the results. Lockheed Martin is a high-performance culture and team. Lockheed Martin’s core values in its mission statement are ethics, excellence, “can do”, integrity, people and teamwork. They have created a culture that clearly dileneates the corporation’s commitment to diversity, hiring executives with the skills and commitment to implement the corporations diversity initiatives. 2. In what ways has Lockheed Martin taken a proactive approach toward supporting and encouraging diversity? Lockheed Martin has written diversity into their corporate vision and values. Values: Do What’s Right o We are committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct in all that we do. We believe o that honesty and integrity engender trust, which is the cornerstone of our business. We o abide by the laws of the United States and other countries in which we do business, we o strive to be good citizens and we take responsibility for our actions. We appreciate our o diversity and believe that respect - for our colleagues, customers, partners, and all those o with whom we interact - is an essential element of all positive and productive business o relationships.
