Office Hours: Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. or by appointment Mission:  This is a seminar-style class that will provide the basic information as to what museums  are and how they function according to the American Association of Museum standards. The  course will investigate the various types of art and historical museums, as well as the personnel to  staff them and the responsibilities of each position. All facets involved in the creation of a  mission statement, forming acquisition policies, conservation practices, methods of interpretation,  cataloguing of objects and museum ethics will be treated. All of the procedures surrounding  organizing a loan exhibition will be examined in detail.
